George Orwell starts blogging!

With a slight handicap of being dead George Orwell recently started a blog. 70 years after the original diary entry the “posts” made by George Orwell are being published on-line. I wonder how he would have felt about having his diary spread over the Internet and eaten up by the Echelon.

Metrobloggen sucks

I just tried the Swedish blogging service “Metrobloggen“. It sucks. Very limited settings, you can just about post a blog entry but NO tags, categories or other extended functionallity. SEO is not to talk about, there are no META tags rendered. To make things even worse for SEO the main URL is messed up with technical IDs and no value words, even the base address starts with a HTTP 302 response which is generally frowned upon in a SEO view. No automated ping-function, at least none exposed so you can add ping sites. No trackbacks either. Since Metrobloggen claims to “pay” you for blogging, 3 Swedish Öre / page view, you thought they ought to have decent statistics but there is only a simple counter and this counter needs to be “verified” by Metrobloggen prior to any money being payed out. Metrobloggen also heavily moderate the page views / top lists / latest posts so if you try and do something they do not like you will simply be “muted” in their blog world.
